Glossary
Wallet (Documents & Digital Assets Wallet)
A technology or application that lets a user store, access and manage certain digital assets — from personal documents to blockchain-based keys — in one secure place.
General definition
A wallet is an application that allows a user to easily store, access and manage digital assets. In practice the term covers two related but distinct ideas.
- Documents wallet — a secure mobile or web app where users store, organise, share and digitally sign personal or business documents such as IDs, contracts, insurance policies, medical records and certificates.
- Crypto / Web3 wallet — a cryptographic pair of a public key and a private key, used in blockchain applications to manage cryptocurrency and digital collectibles.
Wallets in the Ethora ecosystem
Ethora natively provisions a cryptographic keypair for every user account using EVM-compatible wallet standards. Documents can be stored the Web2 way through the Files API, or the Web3 way using smart contracts to create an immutable, verifiable document history with digital signatures.
Pairing a documents wallet with Ethora’s chat and messaging means customers can reach their documents and data seamlessly while contacting their service provider in the same app — lowering support costs and improving customer satisfaction.
