Dedicated Server (hosting option)
A server machine — or dedicated Infrastructure-as-a-Service instance — where a single application runs, rather than sharing space with other tenants. In Ethora, it’s the standard deployment for enterprise customers.
General definition
A dedicated server is a server machine, or at least a dedicated Infrastructure-as-a-Service instance, where a certain application or applications run. This contrasts with shared hosting, where multiple projects coexist on the same machine.
Running dedicated gives an owner greater control over servicing, scalability and security:
- Security — minimizes data intermixing and the risk of leaks between customers.
- Control — custom security policies, firewall configurations and independent maintenance scheduling.
- SLA support — flexible technical support and monitoring without multi-tenant constraints.
Dedicated servers in the Ethora ecosystem
Ethora fully supports dedicated deployment across its product suite — self-hosted chat servers via the Chat SDK and self-hosted LLM AI agents via the AI SDK. Most enterprise customers run Ethora’s managed dedicated servers, typically in the AWS region closest to their end users.
Alternative IaaS providers and on-premises deployments are supported through hosting-agnostic automation and monitoring. Ubuntu Linux is recommended, though other operating systems are possible, and Ethora’s TechOps team handles configuration — including custom security-perimeter requirements for Finance and Healthcare verticals.
