Notes post Ethora attending Websummit Vancouver (May 2025)

Good morning, it is 9 30 a.m. Pacific Time Saturday the weekend after the Web Summit Vancouver..

What a week, it has been fantastic, and I mean you can see the stunning views from my hotel 29th floor. Vancouver is really incredible!

Actually, first time I’ve been to Web Summit I kind of sort of ignored the conference thinking “everybody is going there so why should I”, also never been to Vancouver and now I love this city.

It’s raining today. So locals sometimes call it “Raincouver”

But actually we, the attendees of the Web Summit have been lucky with the weather this week.

It’s first time I’ve been to Web Summit, first time to Vancouver, so quite interesting actually.

I ignored this conference before, but this time I had an incredible opportunity to attend Seattle, Vancouver, and do some hiking the week before and first time attend the Web Summit has been really a good thing to do.

So also surprisingly at the Web Summit there has been a lot of content about AI. Or maybe unsurprisingly because everybody talks about AI these days.

However, also relevant to specific verticals we’re working with.

So for example, there has been quite a lot of tracks and talks and meetups around healthcare.

There was content and presentations and discussions around using AI in mining.

These are all verticals we work with from DeepX’s point of view.

And interestingly, there was no, pretty much no content or discussions around messaging,

Around messaging, chatbots, or things like that.

So, I think this is actually a great telling sign that Ethora, our product for low-code, no-code messaging app, chatbot app, AI LLM, embeddable chatbot on top is quite relevant because everybody is focusing on AI and the value that’s generated the high-level things but you still need the lower level infrastructure. So that’s what we provide with Ethora and that was a good take away for me to keep working on providing this infrastructure layer for communication and AI purposes.

Everybody is focusing on higher level layer, AI applications, business logic, different other things, which underscores for me the value of what we do with Ethora and that we should focus on providing better infrastructure layer for all these myriads of projects and applications that leverage AI agents and LLMs.
